Trailhead?
Although it has been anything but springy-spring break has been nice. We have been lying low here in Afton with no real responsibilities except running track practice from ten to noon each day. I have logged miles, taken naps, played with the kids and even watched 3 entire movies-a big step for me. Today started out with intervals with the track kids in a blizzard (6 inches of snow last night + 16 degree temps). We did 16x200 @ just faster than mile pace with 30 seconds rest between each one. I clipped them all off in 33-34 seconds. I then drove to Alpine to meet up with Eric for a long run. We decided to drive north to what we hoped was less snow near the Palisades Dam. For some reason my camera didn't keep the nice footage of the cornice blowing over the dam. We crossed the dam and headed north. Needless to say there wasn't much if any dirt and we spend the majority of the time post-holing in nice wet, fresh, knee-deep snow for about half of the run. It was the toughest 13 mile/1600 ft. run I've ever completed. It felt like we ran 50k. Maybe it's time to take up skijoring...

Why weren't you at the Jackson aquatic center with the rest of your Star Valley neighbors for spring break?
We were in Jackson earlier in the week. I guess we didn't get the memo. I finally got to run on some dirt this morning at Antelope Island with the Rochomatic. Sweetness!!!
I got my first dirt run at lunch today, with a few antelope on the sagebrush double track behind the lab. Great to be back, eh?
