For a couple of years now I have been battling some residual and chronic injury stuff that has stunted my enjoyment of and my running in general. After a hernia surgery a few years ago I have been way out of whack. It all finally came to a head in Zion last fall when I seized up and my body said "No more...fix me now!" A Christmas visit to see Jennifer McAteer at Superior Physical Therapy came back with the following diagnosis:
1. Hip drop
2. Asymmetrical Arm Swing:
3. Too much torso rotation:
Of course like all good Ultra runners I quadrupled the number of reps on each of the prescribed exercises and now I am nearing 100%. Last weekend I completed 13.5 miles with 3500k climb/descent totally pain free! Hopefully I can be prepared for all the summer adventures to come.
Here is some footage from the visit to the PT. You think Kenyan step downs are tough...try running tipped sideways. Eat your heart out Jaime!

Looking good TD! Fit, fast, and strong the TM will make you, especially sideways....
How in the world did you find that stuff out? I need me some fixing too....
Smiles,
From your little sis who has had the same surgery.
Dave and I are signing up again...things have been a little crazy though. We'll be in tough soon.
